Lorna Benton is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in child, adolescent, young adult and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Boulder, Colorado. With more than 20 years of professional experience, Lorna has been a counselor to children and teens in residential treatment, worked with children in Special Education in the Public Schools and in the court system. After receiving her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work(1995) with an emphasis in children, youth, and families, she served as a Therapist in mental health clinics, hospitalized settings, foster care, and in private practice. She has also advocated for children and family rights on the State political level. She is a STEP® (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) Educator, and a Nurturing Program® Facilitator. Lorna’s style of therapy is interactive, compassionate, and solution-focused. Her aim is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual, no matter what their age, to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
